We bought this house in July after having eyed the location for quite some time! My mother lives just a few houses down across the street, and I’m able to walk my daughter to school now! We also love the natural light, and the layout is wonderful because I have a kitchen that faces the front yard. Also, some original features, like the mail slot, add charm.
Since moving in, we’ve made many cosmetic changes to make it fit our style – repainted or wallpapered nearly every room, updated light fixtures, and added some stylish board and batten walls. Let’s just say, we’ve been busy! We majorly updated the landscaping by removing many overgrown bushes, adding new plants in the front and side beds, and installing stepping stones to our front porch. We also set up a Little Free Library on Tomahawk. Be sure to stop by!
We plan to add a screened-in porch and new patio – maybe even a garden. Our style is fun and eclectic…we try not to take our house too seriously. Our guest room makes people giggle with the board and batten wall fun Benjamin Franklin (blowing bubble gum) wallpaper.
We’ve loved living in Prairie Village for the last seven years and are so excited to be in our new home. The walkability to parks, my daughter Cora’s school, and family on the same street definitely means this is our forever home! Everyone waves and says hi. It feels like such an amazing place to raise a child.
